Viewing GrowingNVegas's Garden Diary: Three sisters garden 2012
Sunday, April 22, 2012
Planted out "three sisters" patch a few weeks ago. Corn seed was old and did not sprout, but neither did the beans. So far only seen sprouts from the flowers and herbs i planted in the plots cement block holes. Flowers include Tri-color daisy's, Sunflowers, Pansy's, Bachelor Buttons, Nasturtiums, Basil, and much more. The soil may be the problem. I used part of the sandy/ clay soil the was on site. Clay is original soil...Sandy Lawn dirt was placed in a pile there two years ago. Added compost, but husband had recently added fresh grain, seems to have attracted many flying bugs may be the problem). Also added 5 bags cow manure and three bags garden soil. We will see how it turns out.
