Terrible heat-50 year record brokenThe temps got to officially 104, 106 by the thermometer at our home. Winds were 20 mph, and humidity 23%. Watered everything thorouly early, then again late. Temp was 98 at 8:30 while I was watering. Supposed to be bad again tomorrow, then in high 90s on into the next week as far as can be seen. Dome of high pressure over whole mid country with jet stream staying far north. Don't know if garden will produce much even if it does survive.

Roma BeansPlanted beans in Woods bed. Ground hard as concrete after not having watered the previous broccoli near the end of its run. Ran the drip hose then planted beans in the softer soil near the hose.

Chives, geraniums, marigolds, basilPottedup chives in red plastic Folgers cans with drain holes punched in.
Chives are said to be invasive so I set the pots in the front garden rather than planting in the bed.
Geraniums I bought June 4 seem to be doing good facing east along back walk. Marigolds doing ok, at least they seem to be still alive.
Basil I put M Gro on last Monday seems to be greening up.
