A year in review; Daturas
Those that were planted in ordinary garden soil didn't do too well. Those were kept in pots. Did great. Currently, one of the double purple blooms is continuing to make bloom in the basement. Many a seedlings were brought in side. Will give those an early head start in spring, so I don't have to fool with seed germination on this cultivar.

All the Dats. I transplanted from various sources ...
Died! Good garden soil? Bugs? Bacterial infection? All croaked. Except one in semi-shade. Others I kept in pots are doing well.

This one is a gonner?
The pot brought from BBG is showing serious sign of stress. After a few blooms, it immediate set seed, but is wilting. Misting didn't help.

Bugs on Datura
Noticed leave-miners on some lower leaves, one spent flower. Nipped those of and continue to observe other healthy leaves and flower closely.

BBG's Datura
Second blooms, can't decide where to place this plant. Want to keep it in a pot for easy access to the fraqrant.

Early sown datura seeds
These was before the last 'experimenting batch' ; I've sown a few without soaking the seeds. They've germinated anyway. Prepare to pot these little guys.

Experiment with Datura\'s seeds
Ordered some Datura seeds and other indoor gardening gargets from Thompson & Morgan. Order was made on the 9th Feb. Contacted them via e-mail inquiring about the order. They replied, and today I recieved my order minus the heated germination station. They include a 'Seeds Sowing Booklet instruction' and two packages of free seeds. 1 is poppies, the other are tomato seeds.
On the packages. Datura seeds instruction said to soak the seeds 24 hrs before sowing. Their booklet didn't. So, I took some of my own datura seeds (self collected ones), and will soak them over night before sowing tomorrow.

Found a seed head of Datura on front porch. Potted few seeds in garage's 'green house'. Sowed shallowly, and watered 'em in. Note: Seeds haved been naturally stratified by nature. Will see how this turn out.

Initial Note
Friday, February 2, 2007
Love these flowers, some similiarity to the Moon flower vine, and some similiarity to 'Angel trumphet'. Proprogated couple offspring from cutting last summer. Have seeds, eager to see these perform in the garden this year. Last year tender cutting x2, readily rooted from ordinary soil. They promptly flowered without much care. Great plants.
