PlantFiles is getting a new look! Just in time for spring, we're rolling out a new look for the best online plants database. It will also work with your smart phones and mobile devices, so now you can take it with you on garden center visits or botanical garden tours. Questions or comments? Please post them here.
Your local feed store or garden center will carry almost all the ingredients listed in 20-40 pound bags and you can make your own. Here's what I use and have had great results.
I use a 1-1 ratio or a five gal bucket. I have over 135 bushes and plants to feed.
1 bucket rosetone
1 bucket kelp meal
1 bucket fish meal
1 bucket alfalfa meal
1 bucket cotton seed meal
1/2 bucket green sand
Mix thoroughly and give each bush 2 cups scratched into the ground
My liquid formula: is mixed in a 32 gal garbage can and dipped out with a one gallon pitcher, each bush gets one gallon or less depending on the size of the bush.
