Sept. 7, 2012
Summer doesn't feel like it'll ever end but I'm looking forward to Fall to cooler weather and to putting all the plants to bed for their winter nap. Still would like to order some tulips..will do those after the 3rd. week of September. By that time, I'll have any plants I receive from the Fall plant swap at Sally's house planted. I asked Mr. Bower to come the week of the 20th. to do Fall maintainence and mulch for me. Maybe I should order the bulbs now so they'll be here and I can let him do the planting for me. That sounds like a better idea! Or maybe skip over ordering new bulbs till 2013 to see what I have left since a lot of plant ID markers appear to be missing.
Miracle Gro applied today by hose method..This is either my 2nd. or 3rd. application this summer. With the weather being so blasted hot, I have been neglectful in doing this task every 2 weeks. Now the mosquitos eat you up when you go outside.

Mr. B. and Cathy came today and prunned two forsythia bushes, dug one up that I didn't want anymore, edged the flowerbeds behind sunroom and the rose garden flower bed. He sprayed my pink rose bush for blackspot and pruned some of it. The azaleas behind the sunroom, he said has lacewing; exactly what the gardening coach told me back in 2009 but I never got them sprayed. He mixed up some Maliathon and sprayed them for me. This morning was so delightful, I thought I'd attempt to dig up the dead azalea that was in garage bed also Westerplatte clematis that I never thought performed well, never liked it. It was easier to dig up then I thought with my digging fork. Hardest part was getting the wire cut from the metal pipe that the wooden trellis was wired to. I don't think I will replace the Westerplatte. Cut back the tall coneflower by the mailbox, as the flowers were so faded. May dig that up and take to Sept. plant swap..I want to buy Kim's knee high coneflower plant. Like its bright color and height.
Mr. B told me that slugs may be eating my Malva Zebrina, to get some slug bait(Sluggo granules)
He feeds roses Bayer rose food granules and fed mine today. Will get that when I go to HD the next time.
Today is delightful; yesterday was so humid, it wiped you out in a few hours. There has been hardly any humidity today and a nice breeze.
