Hearts afire daylily
Sept. 2011, Jill hosted a plant swap at her home in Frederick and I rec'd my first daylily from Ruby and John. Every day I take a walk around the house to see what plants are blooming and if they need watering, etc.
Today my heart swelled with pride to see Hearts afire daylily blooming, as well as my beautiful gladiolas that are planted behind the rose bushes. Those bulbs came from Big Lots last Spring for like $5 or $7 for 10 or 12 bulbs. They are at least 5ft. plus tall. The color reminds you of a deep burgundy/magenta color..When I used to work at the bank and wore suits, I remember a beautiful blouse the same color as the gladiolas. I loved that blouse and got so many compliments on it every time I wore it.
Went to Good Earth and bought some top soil to mix in with leaf gro or Bumper crop soil conditioner to fill in low spots in the two front flowerbeds. I will be transplanting some plants to another location and will see what else I have that I can use in another location before I go buy my annuals to fill in.
