Do you have a mysterious critter in your garden? Post your question and any facts or observations about your bug, as well as a picture of the insect, butterfly or spider to be identified, if possible. Our members will draw from their extensive experience to help you identify it. Once you have a firm ID, please be sure to mark your thread as "closed" to keep it easy for everyone to find the un-identified bug threads!

You may also want to visit our BugFiles database of pictures for comparison. Need a good book to help you deal with the pests in your garden? Check out the Bookworm for helpful books on pest control, recommended by others gardeners.

Please help us build a guide to caterpillars and butterflies in BugFiles with your photos, descriptions, and ZIP code reports!
