After retiring from farming he was always building knick-knack shelves & things like that. Two of my fathers brothers were carpenters. I have three brothers, we all do carpenter & cabinet work for a living. All of our sons are also in the businesses. My sister's son is a furniture maker. His sister does the staining & varnishing for him.
None of us had any schooling. All self taught. My son watches "This Old House" & other shows on TV. Picks up lots of tricks there.
Adding; we built new doors, drawers, & the top for this existing vanity. House was built in 1969 & cabinet doors were terrible, but boxes were in good shape. Counter tops were white formica with gold flecks.
