The original sweater was designed for a black and tan chihauhau. My mom's dog is a gray long haired chihauhau named Violet, so I changed the colour scheme to suit.
Violet is a rescue from a humane society crack down on a puppy mill operation. The poor thing had hardly any fur and only four teeth when my mom got her. She had been badly undernourished. The folks who had her complained that she kept reabsorbing her babies and didn't produce and saleable "product". Fortunately taht mill is out of business and Violet is now a pampered pooch who receives a very good diet. Her fur started fluffing out a few months after joining our family. Now she will be warm and fashionably dressed for her winter walks as well.
