I attached a photo of the vine coming up in my garden. This vine is really nasty! What happens is when the main plant is trimmed or cut down, the plant goes nuts and sends shoots out to incredible distances. I had one of these vines and was trying to get rid of it as advised by my local extention office - they advised NOT to cut on the plant. I was applying applications of round-up, then slowly cutting off the dead stuff and re-applying. Well my neighbor thought it would be OK to take off pickets of my fence, reach into my yard and cut the plant down - now, as you can see, these little sprouts are coming up everywhere!!! I'm not 100% sure that your picture is trumphet vine but take a look at my photos - this is it at an early stage, then it turns into a woody stem and TAKES OFF like crazy. If you think this is trumphet vine - the best idea is not to pull it, but apply an application of round up using a paper towel or glove. Do not spray, this will damage your other plants. I hope this helps!
