Shirley, I have that cryptanthus too. It is sort of more brownish now but started out green. It has multiplied like crazy. I don't have a current pic, so will have to take some. But the pic below is it when I first planted it a couple of years ago.
Those milk weed bugs are still there. They don't seem to do anything, not even eat. I've read up on them, and from what I've read, there is no need to destroy them as they are harmless. Just the sheer numbers though is amazing. They are all over the fence and pot plants too in their hundreds.
