Acemoose wrote: My blue corn plant has been growing BEAUTIFULLY on my balcony but it got to be so tall (almost 8 feet tall, and about to train itself over the balcony "ceiling") that I had to "prune" it, thinking that if I did, then the ears would still develop on the sides of the stalk. Imagine my horror when , after I lopped off the top 1 foot of the corn plant, to see that I had also lopped off the developing TASSEL!!!!! Oh NO!! Did I just "neuter" my corn plant????
PS -- the photo shows the corn plant when it was still relatively "short". The fan is because the neighbors on the adjoining balcony smoke like chimneys.
