I would wait until Spring before dividing the plant. The basics are the same as with any bulb plant. In your case, remove from the pot, wash away the soil so you can see where the new bulbs are attached. Using a sharp knife, slip it between the Mother bulb and the baby....gently "wiggle" the blade between them to loosen the offset, making sure to keep some root attached to the new bulb. Once separated, I use a tiny bit of Rootone (a rooting hormone with a fungicide added) to lightly coat any nicks in the bulbs...and then replant. Mine are all living in the ground so they get a bit of leaf damage in winter. If I remember correctly, the offsets can bloom the following year, depending on size.

The pics below I took can see the frost damage to the the Spring, I will remove the dried and dead portions that offer some protection to the bulbs over winter. I do hope this helps you some.
