Wild, invasive and virtually indestructible, I found
hundreds of them of varying lengths and sizes in the
woods next to a Park in Rockledge, Florida (32955). These photos were taken in diffused but very low natural light
in late afternoon.

Photo of 2 fruits and a flower.

Common name: Maypop, Purple Passion Flower, Apricot Vine
Family: Passifloraceae
Genus: Passiflora
Species incarnata

My husband use to eat Maypops. I grew up in South Georgia and never knew they were edible. The folage is a favorite of some caterpillars. The flowers are beautiful and I have seen them in seed catalogs.
