That's so beautiful! How tall is it? Does it tolerate some shade?

Thankyou woodspirit1. This is a must for me every year. The 'Tall Bicolor Sensation' grows to about 30". Most seed catalogues say sun & some say sun/part shade. I usually try to grow in at least 6 hr sun.

That is a very pretty Penstemon. Bet the hymenopteran pollinators go bonkers over it.

Hi Gerris2. Boy, you had me wondering there with 'hymenopteran'. Had to go look it up. But yes, bees especially like it. Hummers used to like it til I started planting Salvia Black & Blue, Honey Melon & Lady in Red. I'm glad you enjoyed the photo.

Gerris2, in my zone this penstemon doesn't bloom til around the middle of Aug so it doesn't have time for the seed to mature, but I do have an unopened pkg of seed from last spring. If you would like it, just send me your address.

broots,

Would you like to trade? That would make me feel better and was my intention when I asked the question...Are you a Penstemon fan? I have Penstemon smallii that I've grown in my garden. I have other Penstemon species/cultivars but traded for them or purchased, and can trade some of those to you if you don't mind the unknown heritage of what you'd be receiving.

Very pretty, the contrast between the white and the shocking pink is gorgeous! Why do these flowers look different from the other picture you posted? Different plant?

Capt Micha, they all came from the same seed pkg. Thanks for your kind words.

Woodspirit1, check out the T & M catalogue, that's where I ordered them.

Gerris2, you have mail.
