January 13, 2005 3:53 PM | That's so beautiful! How tall is it? Does it tolerate some shade? |

January 13, 2005 4:04 PM | Thankyou woodspirit1. This is a must for me every year. The 'Tall Bicolor Sensation' grows to about 30". Most seed catalogues say sun & some say sun/part shade. I usually try to grow in at least 6 hr sun. |

January 13, 2005 10:01 PM | That is a very pretty Penstemon. Bet the hymenopteran pollinators go bonkers over it. |

January 13, 2005 10:20 PM | Hi Gerris2. Boy, you had me wondering there with 'hymenopteran'. Had to go look it up. But yes, bees especially like it. Hummers used to like it til I started planting Salvia Black & Blue, Honey Melon & Lady in Red. I'm glad you enjoyed the photo. |

I will have to look for this Penstemon...did you save seeds from yours? |
broots Cochrane, ON Zone 2b
January 14, 2005 11:32 AM | Gerris2, in my zone this penstemon doesn't bloom til around the middle of Aug so it doesn't have time for the seed to mature, but I do have an unopened pkg of seed from last spring. If you would like it, just send me your address. |

January 14, 2005 12:12 PM | broots,
Would you like to trade? That would make me feel better and was my intention when I asked the question...Are you a Penstemon fan? I have Penstemon smallii that I've grown in my garden. I have other Penstemon species/cultivars but traded for them or purchased, and can trade some of those to you if you don't mind the unknown heritage of what you'd be receiving.

January 14, 2005 5:35 PM | Very pretty, the contrast between the white and the shocking pink is gorgeous! Why do these flowers look different from the other picture you posted? Different plant? |

January 14, 2005 6:09 PM | Wait! Wait! Whadda bout me? (Just kidding; I'll look for them in the zillion catalogs I have received). |

January 14, 2005 9:37 PM | Capt Micha, they all came from the same seed pkg. Thanks for your kind words.
Woodspirit1, check out the T & M catalogue, that's where I ordered them.
