Taken 7th April 06. Second year flowering, tree 7 years from a small seedling. The position in my garden, trellis behind faces SE.

Yep, supposed to be -5C max., this had at least -9C when still only about 5' tall and in a pot under the edge of the Horse Chestnut tree, it was a long, cold winter too with lots of hard frost. It never blinked! It is on the NW side of the trellis, but does get winter sun through it if we have any sun that is! Amazing to see it go through a winter like we've just had and are still having and flower like that. The scent has got a bit stronger now it's fully open, you have to put your nose up to it but there is no other flower like it, I couldn't liken it to anything. If we had some warm weather it might have just wafted around a little...
