| Pinita Annandale, VA November 3, 2006 | I posted this message on Free clutter but I did not have many responses. I am looking for fresh scent for the bathroom and the whole house. I have used some candles, some plugs that Bath and body works sell, but this scents do not last long, plus they do not smell fresh. You walk to some places and feel a fresh smell but I have not be able to find out what they use. On the clutter free someone gave me the idea of spray from Air wick, but the review of most users say that the spray is too loud. I do not like noises. Does anyones has any ideas. I appreciate any information. Thanks? |
| pepper23 KC Metro area, MO Zone 5b November 3, 2006 | There is something call a Wisp that might work. It sends out little puffs of scented steam/air thrughout the day. I have seen several people using it and they say that it works and its quiet. |
| cellysgarden Clifton Park, NY Zone 6a November 13, 2006 | What I recently did, was put a pkg of potpourrie in a wicker basket in my 1/2 bathroom. I have 3 rolls of toilet paper laying over the potpourrie and it smells great all the time! I used a tea rose scent from Yankee Candle which was given to me as a gift and outscents any air freshener I've ever used. I put the rolls of toilet paper there as a convenient place to store it! |

| Karrie20x Spokane, WA Zone 6a November 25, 2006 | When you clean, use Spic and Span - won't go wrong on ya. I am a cleaner for a living now. GREAT way to get odor out. Clean underneath the toilets as well (that's where it comes from) and expect to get grossed out. After the initial cleaning, it's not so bad. |

| thetalkstops Los Angeles, CA April 18, 2007 | I keep a small ramkin of white vinegar open in places that get smelly. It may smell like vinegar for the first day, but the vinegar absorbs odors. after day 2, the vinegar smell is gone, but it keeps working. |
| Connie_W Austin, TX Zone 8b July 10, 2007 | I do not like candles that have a typical "candle smell": namely vanilla, cinnamon, bright flower smells, etc. But then I discovered the best of all, and people always ask me what candle I burn when they enter my house. It's NOT cheap, but you only have to burn it about 30 minutes at a time. It's made by AVEDA, the hair-care company. I don't know it your area has it, but I think Aveda is everywhere...and I'm sure you could order it online. You buy the candle in a glass container the first time....then refills. I just looked at the candle and I don't see a name on it, so maybe it's the only one they make. It smells very fresh, and just a LITTLE like turpentine that artists put on canvasses. It's the smell of an oil painting mixed with subtle flowers. That's all I can say, but I'm addicted!! |

I use the Birthday Cake scented oil and put it on the rings that fit on your light bulbs. The only problem is it makes my husband hungry and always asking if I'm baking a cake. lol |
| dwerland Nipomo, CA Zone 8a July 19, 2007 | In the winter and the house has had all the window shut, We are the expected to clelbrate.I take a small saucepan fill it with water until half way, then I taken and opricot toss it ito the water add a feww cinnimonn stickes, just just them them simmerer as long ast here is company there you should keep a little sweet something . Ha to tell you though a friends of mine said to me, wow this is really think I wouldn't drink it again so admist the laughter and wiped away tears, I told her that she drank my pottpourii not my mulling spiced cider. |

| chris_h Waukegan, IL Zone 5a March 14, 2008 | I see this thread is quite old but I just recently discovered scent diffusers - you know the ones that are a bottle of scented liquid (oil, I guess) that you stick thin reeds into. Someone gave me one of these as a gift and I really liked the fragrance each time I passed near it. So I bought one for my bathroom. My bathroom is very small, 5.5 feet by 7.5 feet, so the diffuser keeps a soft scent in the room all the time, not overpowering. And it looks nice, too. If your bathroom is reasonably small you may like to try a diffuser. Here's a picture. It's there on the top shelf.

| ecrane3 Dublin, CA Zone 9a May 25, 2008 | The reed diffusers are really popular these days, almost anywhere that sells candles and air fresheners has them. I like the ones from Pier 1, but if you want something cheaper I've seen Method brand ones at Target. |

I've been so busy I haven't visited dave's garden in a while. ecrane is right, you can get them almost anywhere that sells candles. I got the one in the picture at Penney's I think. I've also seen nice ones at Marshall's, TJ Maxx and other stores with home goods departments. There are many wonderful fragrances, too. Good Luck. |
