So waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, I bought that Bonsai book and kit. The instructions were promptly lost and the seeds were forgotten about in the fridge for much too long. I received some Blue Spruce seeds this year and so I decided to attempt to use the seed part of the bonsai kit (its a small shallow black ceramic disk with a hole in the bottom). I put some seed starting soil in, along with the spruce seed.

Well, the spruce seed has now germinated and I'm wondering what to do now. I read that I could plant it in both a larger pot and wait for it to get bigger roots before trying to put it into a bonsai container or that I could just put the seedling straight into the bonsai container and attempt to grow from there.

What works better? Or is there yet another option?
