7:12 PM | Can anybody tell me on how to install a thermal coupling for a water heater? Can yall guide me with pictures or words. I have a sears 48 gallon old water heater serial n 15335010. |

1:32 PM | I went to the link suggested to you and it has good information. This only works if your heater has an open combustion chamber. If it is a new one with a sealed combustion chamber it is a bit more difficult. |

3:00 AM | Here are the steps:
1. Use pliers to remove the thermal coupling from the gas valve then install the automatic shutoff valve coupling in its place .
2. Next, insert the wire from the valve into the hole in the coupling and secure the wire.
3. Use pliers to tighten the connection (figure G), but be very careful not to over-tighten.
4. Remove the cap from the shutoff valve and insert the wire ends into the sockets on the valve (figure H).
5. Secure the wire to the water heater.
6.Finally, turn on your water heater.
