2:08 PM | We are in the beginning stages of home building and my new laundryroom will be off my breakfast room. I am thinking of buying the energy saving front loading stackable units. Anyone use these and have advice on brand, pros or cons. |

6:13 PM | I just got GE frontloaders. I love mine. They use less water and less soap. I had mine side by side but have since stacked them. We are all tall here so it was harder to transfer the laundry when it was side by side. If you are not tall then you may have a harder time reaching the control panel for the dryer when it is stacked. It is great to not have to bend over to get the laundry out of the dryer though. |

12:22 AM | Thanks for your reply. I was already looking at the GE brand and glad to hear you are happy with yours. I am in the medium range for height so I should be ok stacking. I am really happy about getting the little extra space it gives me in the laundry room

12:17 PM | We have GE front loading machines, but they are side by side right now because we need to tear out some cupboards to stack them. The only problem we noticed when we moved to our new house is that the washer shakes so hard it rattles the cupboard doors in the kitchen, at the other end of the house. It wasn't a problem in the old house because the laundry closet was on a concrete slab. It helped to put the washer on special vibration dampening rubber pads, but it still manages to shake the detergent bottle off the top now and then. Maybe the weight of the dryer would reduce some of the shaking if they were stacked. |
