12:59 PM | Just trying to keep this forum going! I transplanted a couple of rose bushes, a dwarf pomegranate, and some blueberry bushes when the moon was right, and they are thriving -- doing much better than they were before the transplant. I don't know whether I have records of exactly when I first planted them; I'll look and see when I get home. It would give credence to the gardening-by-the-moon idea. Anyone have a story to share?
It's getting cold here finally (though it's supposed to get near 80 over the weekend) and my roses seem to be loving it. I'm looking forward to cold, cold February evenings, when I can curl up with hot cocoa and some seed catalogs... making a planting calendar... deciding what goes where! I figure between the almanac for the moon and "Roses Love Garlic" I can have a whale of a garden by next year. |
