January 25, 2008 9:44 PM | Has anyone ever laid the brick pavers along there concrete to give that more upscale look? I wanttted to have them to put that decorative finish on when redid all the concrete, but my husband uses a BOBCAT to shovel snow! ( Bad) So I thought I would just line the edges, this spring..any suggestions would be helpful...Thanks | BackyardZoo Poquoson, VA Zone 7b

Other than that, dig a trench about 2 in deeper than the depth of your pavers, compact it, add about an inch of gravel & an inch of sand, then lay your brick on top of that. The gravel allows better drainage (not as much of a concern with just edging, but still..) and the sand allows you to level them more easily. Line them up, level them out & tamp them down - then back-fill with more sand so they don't shift. |
