I've never heard of it so I can't help you out much, but there was an article this week in one of my many gardening magazines about poison ivy and they said that those harsh soaps that everyone used to use for poison ivy actually can make things worse rather than better.

It's an old soap, but I got it up to about 2 years ago and then I didn't find it in the stores any more.

Have you tried googling it? That's usually the first thing I try anytime I'm looking for something, and 9 times out of 10 I'll find somewhere online that sells it that way. A lot of times things like that which don't sell a ton end up getting kicked off the shelves at Walmart, Target, grocery stores, etc but there are usually online places that will continue to carry them.

At work we are using Buck Brush to help with poison Ivy and other rashes. You just boil it til the water turns dark green I think it was, pull out the leaves and then let it sit til cool. Once cool you can put it on the rash. It really does work. :~)

Actually I did google 'Octagon soap' and came up with hundreds of thousands of hits and got tired of reading after a while. Most were of people that had used it in the past for this or that.

For some reason, my light bulb clicked on when I read your comment, thought and I thougt "ah, google 'source for Octagon soap' and the first one was what I had been wanting ! It was a catalog from a country store that used to send it to me and I had not ordered in a long time so they stopped sending it. I had forgotten their name and had racked my brain for it.

Pepper, I am not familiar with Buck Brush. I am new to this forum and have lots to learn !
