Hello,
i have 2 decent pictures of the bug.
looks like some kinda beetle to me.
hopeing someone can help me with this.
I live in oshawa, ontario, canada.
it was about 1/2" long, (maybe 3/4" at most)
grey spotted (the vinyl tile it was on was also grey)
we have a current problem with wood lice.
we've cleaned up the yard to hopefully deal with them.
thanks for any help at all.

It looks like it bight be a Hemipteran bug - possibly an assassin bug or similar

This is indeed a nymph of an assassin bug (Hemiptera: Reduviidae); possibly that of a masked hunter (Reduvius personatus), an introduced peridomestic species. See [HYPERLINK@www.insectimages.org] for an image. These insects can deliver a very painful 'bite' if mishandled.
