Here we go. Jaye asked me to host this years "Raise My Baby" swap. I'll use the same rules as last year with of course a few changes and additions. We will need to find a judge for this years contest and I think an ending date will help us too. Of course anything and everything could change as we go, It is just supposed to be fun.
Hostess: Robynznest
Co-Hostess: JsxTiger
1. Sign up April 9 - April 26.
2. On or about April 27 - I will D-mail you the name of the NEW MOMMA who will be raising your baby plant.
3. Each member of the swap will purchase a plant in a 4"- 6" pot, and send it to your swap buddy.
4. Cost of the plant should not exceed $10.00 (4-6'' plants in my area are normally no more than three to four dollars)
5. The plant can be of the kind that can be contained in a pot for the remainder of the growing season. If you send a plant that can go in the ground, please be aware of the invasiveness of some plants to the area the Momma lives in. Momma's be sure to check them out and plant appropriately.
6. Plants should be sent to your swap buddy sometime during the week of April 28th - May 3. That gives a 6 day shipping window, so that we all can start raising our new plants around the 4th of May..
7. If your address IS NOT in the address exchange, please send me a D-mail with your shipping address as soon as you sign up for this swap. When I send out the D-mail, I will give your address to your buddy only.
8. !!!!!!!!!!!'ABSOLUTELY NO'!!!!!!!!!! plants are to receive liquor. As most of you remember certain plants last year were given alcohol for medicinal purposes (lol)to help them along, unfortunately we had to give a wake for the deceased. Not this year.
***During the summer months... we will update each other on the progress of our new "charges" by posting pictures. Those without a digital camera... feel free to mail them to me and I will scan them and post the pictures for you!
As the growing season comes to a close... we will (as a group) decide which "MOM" did the best job raising "the baby." If there is a tie then the judge would declare the "Bestest Mommie". THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE GOODIES (given by me) as a reward... and of course have total bragging rights!
Starting next week, I start back to work and I am asking for a co-hostess or co=host to help me welcome new mommie potentials and keep an eye on the thread. I will be trying to keep up as much as possible. Luckily the heaviest part of the season isn't for another month or so.
