When I bought this hardy geranium years ago (bought 2) it was tagged Patricia, which is what I wanted. The center is not dark enough to be her. Does anyone know what it really is? The leaves are like Patricia and it grows like her.
kastrol: I just started on this site and my main interest is in hardy geraniums. Since this is a 2009 post you may not see this. The picture is of Geranium xoxonianum probably "Claridge Druce". Check Birgitte H. Bendtsen's Gardening with Hardy Geraniums at the library. There is a picture on the cover (and inside) of variety "Julie Brennan" which also looks like your plant but it is a darker hue and the petals are narrower.
Lee, Thank you so much for responding. Also thank you for the info. I will check at the library...Don't you just love Hardy Geraniums? I don't think they get used in the garden as much as they should!
Thanks again, Terri
Terri; You are welcome. And yes I agree the hardy geraniums are under-used in gardens. On the otherhand I probably have gone way overboard. Bendtsen's doing I suppose. 150+ varieties mostly species acually. But then I get to enjoy blooms beginning in March and lasting into October. Have a fun year.
