It just goes to show: rules were made to be broken, especially by the creative gardener. How else are you going to learn what your garden can do? This is a great way to learn to identify annual seedlings too. I am always thrilled to see volunteers coming up in the spring, having self sown in that bare spot where something needed to be. Great article. I hope it inspires gardeners to watch and wait before they attack the soil in the spring. .
