Has anyone made rain barrels to place under roof eaves. My house has no gutters. We took them down to paint and discarded them because they leaked so badly. We may or may not put new ones back. Anyway, for now we want to place barrels under four places to catch water. Tell me how you made your barrels. TIA to anyone who responds.

I think most people don't build them, they either buy premade rain barrels from one of the many companies that sells them, or some people are able to find companies that have drums/barrels that they are throwing away and get those.

barberry;
You might contact edyhill, a DG subscriber. She has a good rain barrel system. Maybe she'd be willing to post pics for you.

I don't remember the name of the site but it showed how to build a platform for multiple (I believe they had 8) plastic barrels that were connected with pvc pipe - with the mail gathering spout at a corner where the rain came down. It looked like something I would want to do but I think it needs to be in a place that is kind of out of site.

If i find the site again, I'll send it to you.
