I had never seen this before until a few days ago. I asked someone to pick up some fresh basil for my pasta dinner. What I rec'd was odd looking. It smelled like mint, tasted like mint and looked mintish (i am no expert). I assumed it was a hybrid hiding in a little plastic package with ORGANIC BASIL on it. Hmmm. Even the picture was minty.

I know I'm new to so many varieites of things, but if you haven't had this...you MUST! It's an absolutely wonderful additive to a good pasta dish. And I'm sure other dishes as well.

Anyone know where Basil Mint comes from?

Well, that's cool! I've tried 'Oregano Mint'... now I'll have to be on the lookout for 'Basil Mint'!

If you've got a piece left, you can probably get a plant by rooting it like a cutting in a glass of water. :-)
