I'm definitely going to do this, thanks so much, but one question, do you have to scratch in the deadheads, or just throw them on the ground? What if there is mulch? you have to get it under the mulch don't you?

thanks, Peggy

Glad you're going to give it a try!
I just drop the deadheads on the ground, or gently crumple them in my hand to scatter any seeds that are there.
You want them on top of any mulch, most annual seeds need to be just barely under the surface of the soil and the rain will do that for you. Scatter your deadheads later in the season, after you have spread any mulch or compost for the best results.
