I've recently germinated some Bismarkia nobilus palm seeds in 9" ban pots. The seed is still attached and the roots have grown through the bottom drain holes. If I repot these seedlings in 1 gal. containers the seed will be above the soil level by 2". Will this create problems having the seed unsupported by the soil or must I repot in a much deeper pot, maybe 5 gal?
