slightly silly question here, but can you use flavored coffee grounds around the garden? not sure if it really makes a difference, but don't want to harm my "babies" ;)
thanks!

no, does that work? i don't have a compost bin and just figured instead of throwing them away i could put them in the garden :)

Coffee grounds contain a bit of nitrogen, beneficial to most plants. Mixing them into the soil is a great way to gently feed your "babies". Most gardeners have "babies", too!
Why not start a compost pile? It is very easy--make a pile of brown (dead stuff) and add green (recently cut grass clippings, vegetable garden trimmings) and toss it if you feel like it. Passive compost piles don't break down as fast as ones that are tossed, watered, and have manure added to them, but they do break down and the compost is just as good!

Yes, coffee grounds will kill slugs! Just sprinkle it as a barrier on top of the soil around your plants.

Quick question, will adding coffee grounds to the soil encourage animals like squirrels to dig in the dirt? We have a ton of squirrels and I don't want to give them any reason to dig in the garden.
