I am trying to paint a ceiling in a large room and am having problems getting even paint coverage. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated.

I've used a white ceiling paint that goes on pink, but dries white. It allows you to see if you've missed any areas.

I would also look at what type of roller you're using--if the ceiling has a texture to it, you need to make sure that you're using a fluffier roller rather than a really flat one if you want good coverage.

I am using a paint that goes on lavender and dries white, our ceiling is not textured.
I have tried a varitey of rollers and roller handles with extensions from the floor and without from a ladder also a paint pad which gives better coverage although still not perfect. I guess I will have to break down and put another coat of paint on besides the number of coats already applied.

I now have enough painting equiptment to last the rest of my life, but if there was another tool to make painting ceilings easier I would likely purchase one more tool.

First thing to do is consider the view from the entrance and where the windows are.
I paint parallel to the light source to avoid roller marks, same with the entrance.
Be sure to apply enough paint and DO NOT touch-up 10 minutes later.

In my opinion, don't use anything but ceiling paint. Anything else tends to bleed, and if stains are present you will need to use a primer first.
