planted pennisetum set. Rubrum about two weeks ago in the very hot sun. watered each day. now new shoots are already appearing on a "distressed" plant that I bought at Lowes for 3 bucks. wife likes the seed shoots; this will add a little softness to landscape in the desert. trouble is the big plants cost almost 20 bucks; so will try the smaller versions.

Rancho, if the plant likes AZ as well as it likes CA (and if that isn't a sterile variety), it will self-sow like there's no tomorrow.
