My echinaceas started doing this a few weeks ago. Some of the bud stems wilt (bottom right in the photo), then eventually they turn brown and die (upper left in the photo). Not all of the buds are doing this. Some of the buds on the same plants will bloom beautifully. We have had a very wet spring. Could too much moisture be the problem, or is it a disease or pest?
