I had a downy mildew scare earlier this spring on one of my coleus, and immediately isolated it from the other coleus. it had dirty-looking brown spots on the leaf undersides, and greyish/brownish wilt/dry splotches on the leaf surface. i put it outside on a plant shelf thinking it would die from neglect, and it dropped its leaves, and lo and behold i would say that it has now grown back leaves with no evidence of downy mildew- it looks healthier than alot of my outdoor coleus, who look like sticks this spring/summer. i wish i had taken pictures of it before, but didn't think to. btw, i didn't treat it with anything...
does downy mildew go into hiding, or could it be another fungus/ condition that looks like downy mildew, but isn't?
thanks,
joy
