I am forever pulling long runners of creeping charlie from my beds, and somehow they always return in double force. I had no idea people once intentionally cultivated them!

My son is prone to developing a bad cough when he doesn't want to go to school. Perhaps a couple of doses of your creeping charlie tea would cure him of the habit. ;o)

Thanks for a wonderful article!

What a delightful article about creeping charlie. That's one weed we don't seem to be cursed with here, thank goodness!

Hope you're having fun with Ethan!

LOL @ that remedy for "school-itis"

I think Sharon's computer access is iffy this week, but she'll respond when she's able. :-)

Oh, man, I've been yanking this stuff out of my gardens by the handful.

Four years ago my street was rebuilt. The existing street, including the right-of-way, were completely torn out and replaced. So we have a nice new smooth blacktop street, brand-new shiny curbs and gutters, new utillity lines, and new sod extending well into my yard. Unfortunately, there were no good specifications for the new sod, so the stuff that was put down was of poor quality and has introduced many nasty weeds to my yard and gardens. The thistles are bad enough, but the Creeping Charlie--ugh! It's everywhere. Not only do I have to pay a $230/year special assessment for the new street until 2020, I also have to deal with BAD WEEDS.

Many people whose streets were rebuilt in the past few years have been complaining about this bad weedy sod. I work in the city engineer's office, so I have heard quite a few of the complaints. My boss listened to the complaints, though, and finally sat down with someone who cultivates good sod and with his help drew up new specifications. The contractors will no longer be able to put in the cheap, weedy stuff. Too late for me, unfortunately. I pour boiling water on the thistles to keep them at bay, but the only thing that works for Creeping Charlie is to yank it out by hand.

Ahhhh, Calamity Jeanne...And I bet it never really goes away. How sad.

I can't get control of mine either, and it's all my fault.

It is nice to hear from you, though, even with your bad news. If you ever find anything that will get rid of it, please let me know, and I think you could very easily became quite wealthy with a cure for Creepy Charlie.

Thanks for writing!
