OK.. so I just got into orchids last month ...Make that AN orchid because they are so expensive...I bought one at Fred Meyer last month with a little flowering stem for $20...

Until today...TRADER JOES... Oh Le vache!!!! (Holy cow)

They must have 30 kinds of orchids for $13.99 ea. BIG ONES.. They would be $50 anywhere else.

I am so busted when I get home...

Oh..but there's a DIFFERENT Trader Joe's at home!!!

Now I need to learn WHAT kind they are. I'll take pictures tonight when I get back to the motel. I live out of town all week but like the recent Nikkon commercial carry the essentials...Canon Rebel, macro lens, telephoto lens and credit card for plant purchases and underwear. Which leaves plenty of room for any stray plants I pick up at nurseries and Trader Joes.

Now I need to learn how to care for them. My older one at home is down to it's last couple flowers and I heard something about feeding it soon. Very careful about not voer indulging it in water...

The new ones have lots of flowers (that's why us newbies buy them :)

and I completely forgot to buy lunch which is what I went in for.

I live in the high desert...I might have to remodel the bathroom.

Below is a picture of one I bought today taken with my blackberry in the Trader Joes parking lot.
