Mornin', fiveacregirl...

Are you wondering what to be growing right now, or saving seed from? I'm not familiar with your area and your local weather but I assume you can be growing many of the hot weather crops (squash, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, etc). It is probably too late to start tomatoes/peppers from seed at this point but setting out plants may still be a possibility. Check with local garden centers or your Ag Office for planting dates.

If you can be more specific with what you'd like to grow I'm sure we can give you more direct answers or you may enjoy posting/reading in the Vegetables Forum for a good place to start.

Happy Gardening!

Also my potatoes are doing something funny, geting potatoes on the plant on TOP of the soil, after the blossom, is this normal?

It sounds to me like your potatoes are just not growing deep enough. You should pull soil up over the exposed potatoes, right up to the plants, and do so as high as possibly, leaving 6 inches of plant exposed. Or you can also use leaves or straw to achieve the same result.

If what you mean by "potatoes on the plant, after the blossom", those are seeds. Normally those are not saved by home gardeners as they tend to not begat desirable potatoes (more often than not). However, should you have time to play with them feel free to do so, you may end up with a new variety in years to come.

As for finding forums "again", once you post to a thread you are considered "watching" it. When a new post is made it will bring that forum up to the top of your home page. Also, when you open a particular forum, look to the right of your screen near the forum title and you'll see a "Add This Forum To Your Favorites" box. Click that and you can begin a list of only forums you like to view. Do that for each forum you are interested in.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help...The "dingle berries" ARE on top of the plant...I guess with 3 /24 x 70 Grenhouses and 1 acre of lawn and a 1 acre garden, I dont have time to create a 'New" potato variety...although it might be fun...I do so appreciate all of the info., maybe I can begin to figure it all out...
