I just got a nice large barrel cactus for a very good price at a local plant sale, but it urgently needs repotting. It is about a foot across.
My inclination is to put it in a shallower pot, is that a good idea? It is in a regular red clay pot now, you know, the 'classic' type.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Oh - it has several flower buds, should I wait to repot?
