I just bought two emerald arborvitae, half price because it's so late in the planting season. Can I plant them, making sure that I water them all thorough the summer? Are there any planting tips I need to know? Thanks!

Since you've already bought them, my guess is that they would do better in ground then above ground. I had 3 large ones installed last year early August. I twined a soaker hose around them and soaked twice a week until frost. This year I plan to soak them whenever there's less than an inch of rain during a week. So far the rain has been taking care of them. All three appear to be doing fine.

Ha! I guess you're right. In the ground is better. Thanks for the soaker hose tip.
