BeaHive said it all, "how clever". Maybe that is what I need to hang on a brick fence I have to look at out my kitchen window. I thought maybe someday I would try to paint a scene on the fence, now I'm more motivated to do it.

DH got his palm nailer in the mail so we will see how long it takes for him to start working with it. He had a cortisone shot in his right shoulder so soon he won't have an excuse for not using his right arm. :-) Neighbor offered me a swing as she is getting a new one. Always wanted one, now to clean out area to put it.

Hi,
Helen same bred mine is a rescued dog also I have had him since he was 7 yrs he is now 9 yrs of age named rocky . his owner was very old and could not care for him he was skin and bone and sick when I got him now he in the peak of health never more than a foot away from me .

Pegi plan the painting but dont start yet if D H sees you starting a new project he will put of finishing
the shade area he might think you lost interest in his covering the garden and it will never get finished .
You will be sitting on the swing relaxing watching him work .
how I done the painting used a can of brown spray paint to match the fence as back ground and drew the out line with chalk used craft paint for flowers .

Will be patiently waiting for the pictures. I need to do some of that to hid some of the junk around here before taking pictures. I could have a folding screen that I can more around. More ideas to think about.

I tried the palm nailer and it sure does work better than a hammer, just hope he doesn't put me to work with it.

Sammut- you are so original, and talented. You should put some of yur paintings on canvas and sell 'em. They look awesome in your garden, and what a Great way to Recycle! I love this forum. I keep watching craigslist in my area and just wish I had the time and the space to snatch up all the "free stuff" that interests me- but it'll have to wait till my kids are in school!!! hehe. My husband looks at stuff and says "what do you want THAT for" and I just say " I don't know YET, but it has lots of possibilities"!!!
I went to a garden sale here this spring and saw some of the cutest little garden ornament animals made of metal scraps- I forgot to take pics OR get the name of the maker- but it was all old radiator parts and metal stuff- Just thousands of possibilities!
Keep it up.

Hi Hill ,
I' ve seen the scrape animals I just cannot get mine finished I have a little box of pieces every time I play with it I seem to have only half whate I need now I am a leg short one day my critter will be complete .
Now I am repainting the rafters in my BBQ area over time the paint has faded and worn of from hosing not a big job only going over the flowers and leaves thate are there .
Why not start with things around the kitchen dont throw a way cans or jars bottles look at them as a project ready to happen . A can can be painted and there is a beautiful pot to plant in .When husband see's things finished he will change and start finding new things for you to do . does husband have any old paint stored in the garage - old fence pailings can make nice wellcome signes
when your little ones are painting you can paint with them .
Good luck with your Projects and show us whate you do a lot of ideas come from seeing whate others have done .---------------Sammut

I just remembered some narrow louver doors that my mom had seperating her bedroom from the living room that she gave to us years ago. I guess DH put them in his shed, but thought they would make a great screen, but he said, "and how long do you think they would last in the weather". Well, others have found a great solution to help protect them sooooooo I'm seriously thinking about them. Could put a marine finish on them like they do boats and that should do the trick.

DH is doing some more work on the backyard project. He only works in the late afternoon when it has cooled off. Looks like I will have to do some touch up work on the painting. Can't wait until the screening is ready to put up. He just doesn't understand that you take pictures while the project is in progress, then after it is all complete you take another picture. Our men just don't seem to understand us most of the time.

Thanks Pegi I will, the poor little thing is just 4 inches long, she is so small, she was dumped at my work, one of the blokes here was going to drown her EGAD, I had to save her, that photo was the first day I took her home she has actually put on a little weight since then thank goodness, she was just a little skeleton. I will have to thank the person who dumped her for giving me a lovely new baby if I ever find out who, and then I can hurt them very badly for being so cruel to her in the first place.
Oh sorry I am babbling on, Elaine you are right somedays it is a very great world after all.

Sammut, you have made your garden so cheery. I really like it a lot, must be nice to sit out there and relax. So glad you got your camera back so you could post the pictures for us.

Tonight we had our 4th of July fireworks on the lawn of our city hall. The city puts on a big program for all to celebrate this great holiday. We can see the fireworks from our front yard and they were so pretty. Very noisy and my dogs don't appreciate it at all, they hid under the bed.

I'm sure you will have luck with mosaic Elaine since you have so much luck with all your projects. I'd like to try mosaic too, but just never got around to trying. I've seen so man lovely things other member have made DH think I should paint the wood around my raised bed so went to Home Depot and bought a gallon of light green paint (name is Garden Green). That should offset the brown on the posts on his project. Didn't want brown all over the place. It is shady there in the afternoon so that is when I'll do my painting. Got a gallon of paint for my kitchen too. I've been wanting to repaint since I had a new counter top a year ago. Got paint now how long will it take me to get started!

Elaine, the pots turned out really nice. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. I thought of breaking up some spare dishes I have here and give it a try. I don't use them and don't know why I bought them, maybe had this is mind. My SIL did a round outside table like that and it was really nice. Guess I will just have to start and see what happens. I had a very large round table all done like this that someone was going to throw out. I left it behind when we moved here, so sorry about it now as it would have added a nice touch to the yard.

Just came in from the back yard and seeing that DH has some more work done on the screen project. I'm going to have to do some touch up painting before he can put the screen on top. Maybe in a few hours when it starts to get cooler. Now I can imagine how I can arrange things. Still have to look at the louver doors to see if they can serve as screen to hide DH's junk. The screen will have keep all those old dead pine needles out of the flowers too.

Very nice Elaine! I have a nice place by my kitchen window and it looks like I may have to do some creative work. I do have a pretty flower pot. I didn't do it, bought it at thrift store, black with apples & blossoms painted on it. Goes so well with my apple kitchen. Just wish I could paint this good, but hey I can decopague.

Painting is coming along just fine. He now has all the framing up and I'm painting the brackets and doing touch up paint. As soon as I'm through he can put the screening cloth up and I'll be ready to decorate. I haven't gotten around to painting the raised bed but want the other done first. Got my paint and paint brush ready.

Shelly, your Molly is so cute and looking pretty healthy. You captured her in the best pose, love it.
