I bought this cactus from a DG member early this year. It never had flowers and then all of a sudden it pushed up the little pink fruits just a few days ago. Any idea what is going on?
Also can someone tell me what is the purpose of a cephalothin (sp?) in the cactus world? I must have the wrong spelling for it because when I try to google it all I come up with is antibiotics! LOL!
Also, as an aside, the plant was heavily infested with scale. I have been trying various methods to get it under control, then I stumbled upon something that might help anyone having trouple with it. Sevin's (liquid) label lists soft brown scale as organisms it can kill and it IS soft brown scale. Hard to know if the buggers are alive or dead though. With all the spines it's hard to even get to them physically.
