(WasTilapia no, Catfish yes.) After the first 35 or so went belly up right after I got them home, I made sure the aerator & auto feeder were working okay and went on my previously planned trip to California. Brought my teenaged grandson home with me and found another 65 catfish dead, too. We had bought some mosquito fish in Tempe on the way home from the airport, so hopefully we won't be raising skeeters, but we certainly are not raising catfish this year. It was a terrific idea but just didnt work.. Maybe next year!

Part II --

Next week the fish farm is bringing me another order of catfish fingerlings. I'm amazed that they would sell me more, now that I am a known Fish Murderer. 8^(

So here we go again -- there will be only 3 months of summer left to put some weight on them, if they live that long! My fish tank & aerator seem to be doing okay and my DIL gave me some of her pond plants so that should help the fish environment. I hope.

Hey AZ...
Glad to hear you're pursuing the catfish cowgirl lifestyle... sorry to hear your first herd got colicky and croaked off on you... well, they'll be good for the corn...

Hang in there, you're just on the dragging end of the bell curve right now. Like me and my broccoli starts... =0(
