I have rocks around my koi pond, and was always pulling Creeping Charlie away from the rocks and the pond. One day, after I was lax at removal, I saw the fish sticking their heads out of the pond to eat it!
It hasn't had any ill effects that I can see, so I now allow it to trail into the water. If only my fish would grow legs and climb out of the pond to graze the alleged "lawn," maybe they could control it. I certainly can't.
I had no idea fish would eat it, but I don't even have a pond, so it wouldn't help me at all. You have found one use for it, and though I have tried, I have found none. I don't think I have ever seen such a persistent plant, and one that is so small at that.
Thanks for writing, I hope you are enjoying your summer.
