Cant help you as regards position and hight, but I think if you go into the garden centers that sell those types of stuff, you should get a leaflet with the house, I am also in UK and up here in Scotland we have ad a real shortage of ladybirds over the last few years, in fact, I have not had ANY for a couple of years now, so good luck, you will also be doing your bit for wild life, now that cant be harmful eh. good luck.
