Opuntia humifusa

EZY grower in Ray, Michigan for 35 yrs. Full sun always and prune every other year.

That's a healthy cactus you have there.
But it's actually Opuntia humifusa instead of O. monacantha.
O. monacantha pads are larger and more elongated than yours.
Your's is prostrate and O. monacantha grows more upright.
