It is indeed a bulb from the Cape in South Africa. A Romulae, but I just cannot find the variety. There are many, and this is one of the most lovely. Plain blue, red etc etc.

There's almost no info on them in PF, but I did get a link there to Annie's Annuals as a source (they're currently out of stock, but I know Annie's will email you when they get something in), and there's a little more info there... http://www.anniesannuals.com/plants/plant_display.asp?prodid... Looks like they're tender (would probably overwinter fine in FL).

If you cannot find a supplier in the USA try Summerfields SA bulbs & seed. email summerfields@telkomsa.net He has many varieties of bulbs and seed.
