found this on a road side, the stems are really prickly, and the flowers look kinda like roses. I've got it supported with a stake, but it looks kind of dead/dying - will it rebound? Flowers are a medium pink colour.

It's a R. rugosa, not sure which one without the flower, single or double?

You said you found it along the side of the road, was it planted in a container, or laying there bareroot? It looks to be in pretty good shape and I think it will rebound and thrive if given enough sun and the right conditions.

It wasn't in a pot, I drove by a bunch of them in the country, then went home and got my shovel and went back to dig one up, but the soil was pretty poor and the roots might have been exposed a bit on the ride home. We've had a lot of rain here, and I gave it some plant food, and it's supported for the time being by a stake,so we'll see what happens! Will post a pic of the flower if one of them opens up (there are a few buds on it, hopefully they'll open).
Thanks for the info!
