This is growing cheek and jowl with Blue Bedder Salvia that I'm growing from seed, and has become that plant that does not belong. About 18" high, 3/4" thick stalk, round leaves that go limp in heat. I'm asking now before those flowers start their heyday if its too prolific.
It's a pigweed of some sort. I'd say Redroot Pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus) if it were growing here, but there may well be other, similar looking, species out in Oregon.
